Data Signal is written by a small content team that works across analytics, BI and data engineering topics. We publish under a single disclosed pen name, Maya Chen, so the standard stays the same from one article to the next and readers always know who is accountable for a piece.

That byline comes with rules. Every article starts from a business decision, names its sources, marks hypothetical numbers as hypothetical, and separates what the data shows from what a model estimated or what we think. If you spot an error or an unsupported claim, the editors want to hear about it through the contact page, and corrections are made on the page.

We don't take paid placements in the byline and we don't publish guest pieces under the Maya Chen name. If we add named contributors later, they'll appear here with their own profiles.
